2016 I am ready and looking forward to experiencing you

Here we are, at the close of yet another year. This is time we usually (well...in most cases at least) reflect on the year gone past. Time to ruminate on good times and bad, of successes and challenges, review status of resolutions made, most of which was never even started in all probability. The good news is we got through what life threw at us, the good and the bad. 2015 ends with enough lessons learnt, all of them that will serve us well going forward.  It was a year, for me, that showed strength of relationships, friends became family and family became friends. A year of change yet familiarity, a year that taught valuable lessons.

- Little moments with loved ones can make a big difference in a day
- Expectations lead to disappointments, but you can manage expectations (to some extent) if  you give only as much as you get
- Let go of anything that is not meant to be, be it  a situaton or a person or even  thing
- Happiness is not a personal choice, people, surroundings and at times even the weather play a part

Well there are a lot more... But these will do I guess. So, for 2016 here are a few, I would like to say decisions, that we can hopefully ensure  we follow through (resolutions are not meant to be kept)

- Sometimes we have to just be, let go and be and not try to control a situation
- Be grateful for every relationship we have, remember that both the person and the relationship is important and to take neither for granted
- Give as much as we can, be it time or effort, the choice to accept is the other persons
- Always keep a bit of you for you, at the end of it all we need ourselves too

Well thats it I guess. Its been one great ride, ups, downs, laughter till my sides ached and at times even shed some tears. But that is the beauty of life. We are here in this moment so let’s live it.

Imagine you are standing at the edge of a cliff overlooking a calm blue sea. Close your eyes, breathe in the fresh, though salty air and feel the calm seep in. Open your eyes and look at the great expanse of the horizon, never ending it seems. May your year be the calm sea and your dreams like the horizon beautiful and big. Happy 2016 peeps, stay blessed... May the year be filled with love, goodness, and happiness.

May it be a Thankful Christmas

Hmmm... It's that time of the year again, ain't it? The last few days of the year where we are all gung ho about sharing and caring and giving and living in the spirit of the season. This is the time we reflect on all the good things the year has given us and possibly tide over and brush aside the bad. Focus on the good and box up the bad. Of course we will take it out again (you know... these ‘bad or negative things’ in a couple of weeks time, once the Christmas euphoria has settled and we all once again become our actual ungrateful selves.

Sadly though the intent for goodness, positivity and cheer is there it is short lived and we very soon forget all the things we really should be thankful for.

Our families we have to love, to have those petty fights with, who irritate us, but also love us back mostly unconditionally, our rock against which we lean at times when its difficult to stand, through thick and thin.

Our friends, who we laugh with, sometimes fight with, always bug, bother and even bullshit with, they are our home away from home, who will stand by with us through sick and sin.

Our jobs and colleagues, without which and who there would be no presents under the tree, no stress or the biggest cause of our angst, yet they too come through for us when we need them.

All those people to whom we say hi to everyday the security guards at our home, office or even at malls, servers at restaurants, those dudes at the petrol pumps, cleaning ladies and gents, even with just a smile they make a difference.

The air we breathe, water and food, so many things to be grateful for.

So here is a big thank you to all of you, for the roles you play in my life. Be it just a hi hello friend or a Facebook contact or family or a friend I am grateful you are in my life. Thank you for being here in this world at this moment with me.

May you all be infinitely blessed with love and happiness.

You are Sixteen...

Such a beautiful age to be. This is the year of dreams and hopes (as is all other years, but just that little bit more special).  There is a magic to the age of sixteen that is just so beautiful.
“Your life little girl is an empty page” fill it with good deeds “Baby its time to think, Better beware, be canny and careful” life is a long but tough road you need to tread with caution. “Totally unprepared are you” to face this world that is wonderful, but also cruel. “Timid and shy and scared are you of things beyond your kin” so be confident and face the world with grace and strength. No matter what life brings you, stay “innocent as a rose”. So remember my little rose as you stand at the edge of this precarious cliff of life, you have people “older and wiser” who love you and care for you.
It is a beautiful experience to be an aunt and one I thoroughly enjoy, there are times ofcourse that we may not always see eye to eye on things. But that does not in any way mean I love you any less. You are such a lovely girl, with such a beautiful heart. There is so much more for you to experience in life. I pray that life wil treat you well. Life will also teach you a lot of things, some experiences will be good and some bad, some happy and some sad. Through it all remember, it is still a beautiful life. A life God has given for you to live to the fullest, give out love and help selflessly. And always always have faith and hope. Love you. Mammama
