May it be a Thankful Christmas

Hmmm... It's that time of the year again, ain't it? The last few days of the year where we are all gung ho about sharing and caring and giving and living in the spirit of the season. This is the time we reflect on all the good things the year has given us and possibly tide over and brush aside the bad. Focus on the good and box up the bad. Of course we will take it out again (you know... these ‘bad or negative things’ in a couple of weeks time, once the Christmas euphoria has settled and we all once again become our actual ungrateful selves.

Sadly though the intent for goodness, positivity and cheer is there it is short lived and we very soon forget all the things we really should be thankful for.

Our families we have to love, to have those petty fights with, who irritate us, but also love us back mostly unconditionally, our rock against which we lean at times when its difficult to stand, through thick and thin.

Our friends, who we laugh with, sometimes fight with, always bug, bother and even bullshit with, they are our home away from home, who will stand by with us through sick and sin.

Our jobs and colleagues, without which and who there would be no presents under the tree, no stress or the biggest cause of our angst, yet they too come through for us when we need them.

All those people to whom we say hi to everyday the security guards at our home, office or even at malls, servers at restaurants, those dudes at the petrol pumps, cleaning ladies and gents, even with just a smile they make a difference.

The air we breathe, water and food, so many things to be grateful for.

So here is a big thank you to all of you, for the roles you play in my life. Be it just a hi hello friend or a Facebook contact or family or a friend I am grateful you are in my life. Thank you for being here in this world at this moment with me.

May you all be infinitely blessed with love and happiness.
